Ginkgo Biloba: A Memory Protector?

elderlyThe jury's still out as to whether Ginkgo Biloba supplements can help protect memory. Researchers assigned over 100 elderly adults to take Ginkgo Biloba supplements or a sugar pill. Three years after the start of the study they found no difference in memory function between the two groups. Those who reliably took the Ginkgo Biloba supplements had a lower risk for developing mild memory problems, but this result was not statistically significant. They also found those taking the supplements were slightly more likely to have a stroke or mini stroke.
