The state health department has begun HIV Awareness day for African Americans. Health officials offered free testing Saturday at five different locations across the state. One of the locations for the testing was at the Theressa Hoover United Methodist in Little Rock. According to the Arkansas Department of Health AIDS is one of the leading causes of death among African Americans nationwide. Studies show that African Americans are not as likely to get tested right away which can lead from HIV diagnosis to AIDS faster
