LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The Senate Education Committee voted to ban electronic or "e-cigarettes" on public school campuses.

High school and college students showed up to the meeting on Wednesday to show support in favor of the bill.

One student says this just another step in stopping big tobacco and sends a more positive message.

"Teachers and coaches and sometimes even students have been using the products, and we just want to ask the people of Arkansas what kind of example is this setting for students," says Josilyn Mitchell, a freshman at University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.

E-cigarettes don't use actual tobacco smoke, but nicotine in a vapor that comes out through an inhaler.
