Childbirth can be a little scary for some expectant moms.
That's why classes on what to expect can be extremely helpful.
Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville offers childbirth marathon classes to get mothers-to-be ready for the big day.
Meredith Green, a nurse in the Labor & Delivery Unit joined Mallory Brooks today with details on the classes.
She says the classes will prepare you and your support person for your labor and birth. The class will cover the last few weeks leading up to your birth, the labor process, comfort measures, relaxation and breathing, interventions, choices in pain control, the role of the support person, cesarean section, and the first two hours after birth. The class includes a tour of the Labor and Delivery Unit and a demonstration of different uses of the labor bed and birth ball. The last portion of the class will cover breastfeeding, baby care and postpartum.
