HOT SPRINGS, AR -- Pet owners in Hot Springs are being warned about rabid skunks after two were discovered in only a few days.

The first skunk was found March 11 at Entergy Park and tested positive for rabies two days later.

A second skunk was captured at Mid-America Industrial Park on March 15, and tested positive for rabies on Sunday.

This comes after record-breaking numbers of rabid animals were reported in Arkansas in 2012.

Officials say you should call animal control if you are suspicious of an animal in your area.
