Atrial Flutter

Atrial Flutter: A rhythm
disorder in which electrical activity circulates in the right atrium. Patients
with brief (paroxysmal) episodes of atrial flutter often have normal hearts,
while patients with chronic atrial flutter have underlying heart disease that
results in enlargement of the atrium. Chronic atrial flutter often converts to
chronic atrial fibrillation.
