West Memphis Tap Water is Milky, Fizzy

WEST MEMPHIS, AR - Some West Memphis residents have milky and fizzy water coming from their tap.

The West Memphis Water Department says it will be flushing hydrants this morning in the areas affected by the water problems.

Officials say removing a water storage tank caused air to get in the line and make the water look like Alka Seltzer.

The problems started late Wednesday afternoon.

While the city says the water is safe to drink, some people are not convinced.

The photos with this story came in via Facebook from Karen Beshires McAteer to KARK 4 News sister station ABC24 News in Memphis. The woman lives in the 500 block of Dover Road in West Memphis.
