LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- An Arkansas lawmaker is pushing to bring a daily moment of silence to Arkansas public schools.

Representative Debra Hobbs filed a bill on Monday that would require a period of silence at the beginning of each school day.

"Two years ago, I received a call from a gentleman who felt it was very important that we change it from 'may' to 'shall,' he felt a lot of schools weren't allowing it, so this would allow that one minute of silence," Hobbs says.

Hobbs says a moment of silence will allow students to say a silent prayer, meditate or just reflect.

Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois and Nebraska have all passed the moment of silence law.

If all smokers and tobacco users in the Fraking Great State Of Arkansas, were to suddenly switch to nothing but E-C's the Fracking Great State Of Arkansas and Tobacco Retailers would see their worst nightmare smack them cold and asininely viciously hard squarely in their greedy faces.
