FAYETTEVILLE, AR - A felony arrest warrant has now been issued for the student who shot himself accidentally on the University of Arkansas campus.

According to Washington County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Matt Durrett, the warrant was signed this afternoon.

University police tell us that Matthew Williamson was a work-study student at the campus radio station, KUAF in Fayetteville.

On Feburary 8th, investigators say he took his handgun out of his backpack to show his coworker.

That's when he accidentally pulled the trigger.

Now Williamson is facing a charge of Possession of a Handgun on School Property, a Class D Felony.
