LITTLE ROCK, AR -- A new bill moving its way through the state capitol could put your proof of insurance at your fingertips during a traffic stop.

State law currently requires paper proof of auto insurance for drivers, but a Senate bill that has cleared committee would offer the option of electronic proof on smart phones or other devices.

Providing the officer with your device would not give them permission to search your phone for other information without a warrant.
