Accused Child Rapist Dressed in Women's Clothing Arrested for Lewd Acts in Public Park

An accused child rapist was arrested again Tuesday morning for performing lewd acts in a public park.

What he was doing and what he had with him may be disturbing.

Unfortunately, it's not uncommon for people to get caught doing things they shouldn't be doing in a public park, but deputies and prosecutors are very concerned about what this man had with him, and about why he was out of jail in the first place, given other pending charges against him.

David Ray Cook was arrested in 2011 for allegedly raping a young girl over a period of years. Prosecutors say he even gave her crystal meth and videotaped them having sex.

Cook hasn't been to trial yet, and was released on bond last summer after a judge lowered his bond against the wishes of prosecutors.

Early Tuesday morning, Cook was arrested at Beaver Fork Lake Park in Conway.

Patrolling deputies say they noticed pornography in Cook's car, then when they got closer they say he was inappropriately touching himself.

Cook was reportedly wearing women's clothing and also had sex toys with him.

"It's a big concern, people don't want to go to a park and see this kind of thing, that's not what a park is for," Capt. Matt Rice of Faulkner County Sheriff's Office said.

But perhaps the greatest concern, Cook allegedly had balloons, children's clothing and Barbie dolls in the car with him.

Investigators are now working very hard to make sure he hasn't had any access to harm children.
