Having a miscarriage or an abortion may raise the risk of having a low birth
weight baby in subsequent pregnancies. Researchers at Virginia Commonwealth University looked at data on more than 45-thousand mothers and children. women who'd had just one miscarriage or abortion in the past were three times more likely to give birth to an
underweight baby as those without previous miscarriages or abortions. Other, similar studies have not found any increased risk... research is ongoing.
