A man in Cleburne County has been arrested and charged with battery after reportedly shooting a woman in the face.

Cleburne County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a shooting call on Creekside Drive near Greers Ferry in late January, where they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

The woman was airlifted to a hospital in Little Rock, where she was treated and has since been released.

Officials charged 48-year-old Mark Kantz with first-degree battery in the incident, and he remains in Cleburne County Detention Center on a $150,000 bond.
