The Garland County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) has released the names of two men now charged in a Wednesday night shooting death.
Dustin Wayne Brown, 24, and Stephen Tye Curtiss, 26, are both charged with murder and battery and are being held without bond.
The GCSO says the men were picked up this morning at a home in Grant County with the help of the Arkansas State Police and the Sheridan Police Department.
Original story (5:00 a.m.):
The Garland County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) is investigating a shooting that left one man dead.
It happened Wednesday night just before 6:30 on Barite Street in the eastern part of the county.
Deputies say two suspects whose names are not yet being released have been detained in the incident.
The shooting victim is identified as David Halpin, 25. A 29-year-old woman also suffered minor injuries to the head.
The GCSO says early reports indicate the suspects followed the victims to the home where the shooting took place.
Before shots were fired, deputies say there was an argument and fist fight and then one of the suspects pulled a gun and shot Halpin, who died at the scene.
At some point during the fist fight, the woman was hit in the head and/or face by one of the suspects.
Investigators have worked through the night, and are still working on interviews, gathering evidence and determining a motive for the shooting.
