A fire that burned for several hours has destroyed an abandoned church building in Springdale.

The blaze broke out on South Thompson Street just before 10 o'clock Sunday night and burned until after sunrise on Monday.

Fire officials have not released any information about how it started as the investigation continues.

Some streets had to be closed while crews fought the flames.

The building had housed the Ozark Guidance Center, then a church, before it was abandoned.
