Arkansas Road Conditions Improving with Rising Temperatures

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: January 16, 2013
Arkansas road conditions are improving as temperatures rise above freezing.

On the latest map from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, there are still ice patches reported from Monticello and McGehee to Pine Bluff, around Little Rock, and in North Central and Northeast Arkansas.

Slush is reported on highways from Brinkley to Helena, ice is reported from Jonesboro to Pocahontas as well as south of Mountain Home and snow is reported on roads in the Pine Bluff area and from Clinton to Harrison.

Bridges and overpasses as well as exit and on ramps could also still be slick across the state.

Temperatures will dip below freezing across the state tonight, so drivers are reminded to be on the lookout for ice patches tonight and into Thursday morning.
