Observant Neighbor Alerts Benton PD to Burglary in Progress

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Holly Drive on report of a residential burglary in progress just before 1:00 Monday afternoon.
When they arrived, they noticed the back door had been forced open, and a search around the home located 37-year-old Bobby Smith, who tried to run away but was apprehended a short time later.
The other suspect, 30-year-old Jennifer Brock, was arrested a short time later near the area of the crime, police say.
Smith is charged with residential burglary, possession of a firearm by a certain person, theft of property, and criminal mischief. Additionally, Smith is also currently a parolee and had active warrants out of Saline Count at the time of arrest.
Brock is charged with residential burglary, theft of property and criminal mischief.
Police say the investigation is ongoing, and more charges could be possible in the future.
