Pine Bluff Fire Chief Retires After 36 Years with Department

According to Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services, Battalion Chief James A. Brown has finished his time with the department, which began as a firefighter in November of 1976.
Chief Brown was promoted to Engineer in 1982, Lieutenant in 1996 and Captain in 1999 before becoming Battalion Chief in 2001.
A retirement celebration was held in his honor at the Waterfront building in Regional Park last Thursday, where family, friends, and firefighters gathered to reminisce on the many shared memories throughout his 36 years of service.
Fire Chief Shauwn Howell thanked Chief Brown for his many years of dedicated service to the City of Pine Bluff, and stated that it was a pleasure and honor to work with him; and wished him much success and happiness throughout his retirement.
