Little Rock Police Investigate Officer Involved Shooting

Little Rock Police investigating a deadly officer involved shooting Friday.

It happened at 14th and Brown Streets.

Police say detectives witnessed a burglary in progress and chased a man through an alley.

"That individual was subsequently shot by an officer, he is deceased at this time, said Little Rock Police Department Public Information Officer, Cassandra Davis."

People in the neighborhood, speak out about the shooting.

"I feel like police are here for a reason, they are not here to kill, they are here to protect, said Andre Allen."

Little Rock Police continue to investigate this deadly shooting.

We are being told the officer whose name has not been released, is a veteran, with more than ten years with the department.

He is now on paid administrative leave.

The name of the suspect has not been released at this time.
