Gun Sales Soar in Springdale

A statement made by Vice President Joe Biden is having a significant impact in Northwest Arkansas.

Biden said President Obama is serious about using his executive power if needed to get gun control moving.

C&S Gun & Pawn Shop Inc. in Springdale has sold a year's worth of guns in just two months and their sales have gone up almost 700-percent.

According to owner Clint Cornett, almost half of their customers are new, people that have never owned a gun and never thought they would buy a gun. Cornett said there is now a fear of not being able to purchase a firearm.

"I think the nervousness of the things that the President and Vice President are stating. They're stating things that should never be stated. This should be for the Senate and Congress to decide, not an executive order. It just will not work on the Second Amendment," he says.

Some folks are buying four, five, six guns each. Cornett believes officials should be enforcing gun control laws already in place, and not punishing law abiding citizens.
