Arkansas Mississippi Minority Supplier Development Council Names Board Chairman

The Arkansas Mississippi Minority Supplier Development Council (AMMSDC) has named a new board chairman.
During its annual board retreat in Jackson, Mississippi early last month, the AMMSDC elected Salah Khalaf of Sam's Club/Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. as its Chairman of the Board.
John Munson of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America was elected Vice Chair, Kedrin Edgerson of Pepsico/Frito-Lay was named Treasurer and Cyla C. Rome of Entergy was elected Secretary.
With more than 12 years at Sam's Club/Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Khalaf is currently the senior manager for supplier diversity. His strong merchandising, operations, and negotiation skills led to increased sales and profit in the areas of responsibility. Khalaf also sits on the board of directors for the National Minority Supplier Development Council.
"We are very excited to have Mr. Khalaf as the new Chairman of the Board for AMMSDC as we move toward our overall vision of creating mutually beneficial relationships between minority suppliers and corporate members" said Mia McNeal, President/CEO of AMMSDC.

The Arkansas Mississippi Minority Supplier Development Council (AMMSDC) is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization that identifies minority suppliers; certifies bona fide minority business enterprises (MBE); and facilitates procurement opportunities between corporate America and AMMSDC-certified minority suppliers. The minority supplier designation applies to Asian Indian-American, Asian Pacific-American, African-American, Hispanic-American and Native American businesses located throughout Arkansas and Mississippi.
