What the Ramay Junior High Foreign Language Club collected amounted to a lot more than small change. The group brought in a total of nearly four-thousand dollars.
Homeroom classes competed between Thanksgiving and the holiday break to raise the cash.
Over the last 21 years, the Fayetteville school says students have donated over $40,000 to charities, including the Salvation Army and the Northwest Arkansas Rape Crisis Center.
This year's donations will allow them to give $2,800 for Peace at Home Family Shelter, $500 to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, and $400 for groceries and other necessities for Ramay students in need and their families.
