Dustin McDaniel: "I Made a Mistake" in "Inappropriate" Relationship with Hot Springs Attorney

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: January 9, 2013
Nearly three weeks after admitting to an "inappropriate" relationship with a Hot Springs attorney, Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel has now publicly discussed the situation, saying "I made a mistake."

McDaniel began a morning news conference at a North Little Rock hotel by apologizing to his wife.

The news conference followed up McDaniel's December 20th admission of a relationship with Andrea L. "Andi" Davis in 2011. At that time, McDaniel said he had met Davis during his 2010 campaign.

McDaniel said he held the news conference to "be clear of what I have done wrong," saying further that "there are no other women." McDaniel went on to state that he at no time "violated any rules of conduct" of his office, before explaining five cases on which Davis worked with the staff of the Attorney General's office in 2010 and 2911.

McDaniel said he still intends to run for governor in 2014, adding that "I need to earn the second chance I am asking for."

Davis was asked for her reaction to what McDaniel revealed at the news conference. In part, she told TalkBusiness.net the following:
"My reaction is disappointment. It is one thing to make a mistake and another to keep making it. I feel hamstrung by the legal complexities that exist in my life at this juncture as they prevent me from speaking freely."

Wow they were able to travel through time to the year 2911 and work a case. That is awesome.
