Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is asking people to "stand with Hobby Lobby" as they "fight in court for the most basic American rights of freedom of religion and freedom of speech."

Hobby Lobby, mired in a legal battle against the new federal health care mandates, is asking people around the country to show support on Jan. 5 by shopping with them at their stores or online.

Now Mike Huckabee is showing his support for the arts and crafts giant.

The former Arkansas Governor writes on his website: "The Hobby Lobby company has resisted the demands of the government to abandon their principles to 'comply' with dictates from the Health and Human Services Department. It's one more way in which an overreaching federal government seeks to violate the conscience and Constitutional rights of American citizens in the name of 'what's best for us.'"

A Facebook page has also been started for the event.

Evidently, Peter, you are like so many liberals. You can't understand a person doing something because it is the right thing to do. Gov. Mike won't get anything out of this but the satisfaction of doing something that is right without the expectation of a reward. You apparently don't grasp that concept. What a pity.
