Entergy Couple Works Through Christmas to Restore Power

Entergy is finally scaling back.

The power company started sending hundreds of linemen home Tuesday after the Christmas snow storm that knocked out the power to 200,000 homes in Arkansas.

But local crews are still working overtime until everyone has power restored.

Wheeler and Cheryl Sims were about to enjoy a family Christmas when the power died. They've hardly seen each other since.

Wheeler went straight to work repairing lines, while Cheryl packed a bag.

"Because I work storm logistics," Cheryl said. "We had to get lodging for all the crews coming in."

"It's tiring," Wheeler said of working through the holiday. "Long hours. Sixteen hours a day."

Even with crews going back home, the Sims say they will be working overtime for at least a couple of days.
