First Electric Power Outages Update

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: December 28, 2012

First Electric is reporting 20,000 members without power this morning, down from 30,000 yesterday afternoon.
Out of the five districts that First Electric services, Heber Springs, Perryville and Stuttgart have the majority of their outages isolated. Jacksonville and Benton districts are working to resolve some of the larger outages - many of which should be resolved when Entergy repairs transmission lines that feed Avilla, Congo and Crows substations. However, the energizing of the substations does not necessarily mean all members served by them immediately will have power. There could be problems with First Electric's feeder lines that crews will not know about until the substations are in service.
Based on the information available at this time, First Electric estimates all members who are able to receive electricity will be restored by Friday night.
Members may report an outage by calling 888-827-3322 or the cooperative's main line at 800-489-7405. More information will be provided at www.firstelectric.coop and at www.facebook.com/FirstElectric as the restoration continues. Due to phone service interruptions, the Outage Viewer is not reflecting real-time data at this time.
