Not everyone is racing to big box stores to finish up their last minute Christmas shopping.

Todd and Jessica Hall drove half an hour from their home in Cabot to buy a flag pole from the Arkansas Flag and Banner store in Little Rock.

"We really like them, like to come and support them (local businesses) when we can," Todd Hall said.

He and his wife say they've spent more this holiday season than last year, conservatively,a total of $1,500.

The National Retail Federation projects sales will top out at just over $586 billion this year, up by 4.1 percent last year,
