The victim of a Saturday night shooting says mistaken identity during a drug deal may be the reason he was shot in the back of the head.

Gunfire erupted in the 2800 block of West 13th Street just before midnight.

20-year-old Isaac Tyler told police he and another man visited a home to buy marijuana. When they pulled up, three suspects reportedly opened fire on the car. Tyler told authorities one of those suspects appeared to have an AK-47.

When the shots rang out, the man driving the vehicle Tyler was in sped away. Tyler says one of the suspects called that driver to say they mistook them for someone else.

That driver, who Tyler said he couldn't identify, eventually dumped him on the side of the road near UAMS.

Doctors determined the victim was didn't have life-threatening injuries. He was later discharged from the hospital.
