Update: Interviews Underway for El Dorado Police Chief

Interviews are underway in El Dorado for a new police chief.
The El Dorado Civil Service Commission is interviewing seven candidates for the position.
A decision could be made as early as Friday.
Six of the applicants are members of the El Dorado Police Department, and one is from out of state.
The Civil Service Commission will meet on Friday and will go into executive session to either select a police chief or schedule additional interviews with the candidates.
Chief Ricky Roberts is stepping down from his post on January 31st.

El Dorado Police Chief Ricky Roberts will be stepping down one month earlier than originally planned.
Roberts would only say complications with his retirement plan is the reason behind the move.
Applications are being accepted from now until Jan. 15 to find his replacement.
The El Dorado Civil Service Commission will be overseeing the hiring process and hope to have a new chief in place by the end of January.
