Interview: Rep. Williams on Low Prison Numbers

The number of offenders in county jails waiting for a space in our state prisons is now down to the lowest number it has been in nearly 15 years.

How did this happen? Many attribute it to a piece of legislation known at the public safety improvement act which passed in 2010.

Representative Darrin Williams sponsored that bill. He joined us Friday morning on KARK 4 Today to discuss the bill.
