Breastfeeding Causes Sag, Only A Myth

Doctors say it’s only a myth. Breastfeeding does not contribute to sagging breasts, according to a team of Plastic Surgeons at the University of Kentucky. They interviewed a group of women who sought a breast lift or augmentation. Most had been pregnant at least once and more than half had breastfed one child. They also evaluated body mass index, medical history and smoking habits.
Doctors found no difference in the degree of Breast Ptosis, or sag, in women who breastfed compared to those who did not.
So what does increase the risk? Doctors say age, number of pregnancies and smoking, which damages the elastin in the skin.
