A South Arkansas town is collecting encouragement cards to send to Newtown, Connecticut after last week's school shooting tragedy.

The Camden Lions Club is organizing the drive, seeking to let the families of the victims know the city is thinking of them and holding them in their prayers.

There are several drop off locations in Camden, including Chad Canada's Insurance, Judy's Flowers, Catherine's Bistro, Waggin Tails, Victory Church, and Dan Cook's Office Products.

Lions Club members say the cards are a small way to express their love to the people of Newtown as they mourn the loss of the 26 killed Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary.

"It is a time of giving and I think at least we can give them some encouragement and that's where this started out," explains Chad Canada.

The cards will be mailed this Thursday and officials say that the Camden Lions club will include a monetary donation so individuals sending cards don't need to put money inside their cards.
