A weekend trip to the grocery store for a woman in West Little Rock ended with her having to defend herself against a would-be robber.

It happened early Saturday morning, shortly after midnight, in the Kroger parking lot at 11400 Cantrell Road.

The 44-year-old victim told police she was putting groceries into her car when a woman got out of a rust-colored PT Cruiser with her hands in her pockets and told her she had a gun. The suspect told the victim not to scream before grabbing her keys out of her hand, telling her to get in the car and give her a ride.

The victim refused and snatched her keys from the suspect's hand, breaking off the house keys from the car keys.

At that point, the victim told police, the suspect became very nervous and told her she had a knife before dropping the car keys and running back to the PT Cruiser then driving off.

The victim tried to activate the panic alarm on her car keys but it didn't work and she ran back inside the store for help. When she was told there was no security, she left, went home, and called police.

The suspect is described by police as being a black woman 20 to 25 years old, 5'1" tall, 150 pounds, who was wearing a blue athletic zip-up coat and jeans.

Jacksonville Man Reports Robbery in Little Rock
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 22-year-old Jacksonville man told police he was robbed in the parking lot of a West Little Rock apartment complex Sunday night around 9:25.

The victim told police he went to 7 Southern Hills Circle, just off West Baseline Road, to pickup a man he knows only as "T", who needed a ride to North Little Rock.

When the victim arrived to pickup the man, he told officers another man he did not know also got into his car. Shortly after, "T" asked him to pull over, saying he did not feel well.

According to the police report, "T" then pointed a gun at the victim's forehead and demanded everything he had, while the other man wrapped something around his neck and held him until he gave them his belongings.

After that, the men got out of the car and ran away, taking the victim's cash, credit cards, cell phone, wallet, along with his car and house keys.

One of the suspects was described as a black man 20 to 25 years old, 6'0", 180 pounds who was wearing a red hoodie and red sweat pants.
