The 189th Airlift Wing of the Arkansas Air National Guard Completes a Week-long Compliance Inspection

The 189th Airlift Wing of the Arkansas Air National Guard announced on Dec. 11, 2012, that it had completed a week-long compliance inspection here by representatives from the Air Force's Air Education and Training Command and the ANG Logistics Compliance Assessment Team.
The inspection, which is a periodic review of the unit's compliance with processes, procedures and regulations in their day-to-day operations, resulted in inspectors grading the 189th AW as excellent with Air Force requirements.
"This rating should reinforce to the citizens of Arkansas that the Arkansas Air National Guard is a highly effective, nimble and fiscally responsible organization," said Col. Steve Eggensperger, 189th AW commander. "I'm very proud of our Airmen."
The 80-member team of inspectors from units throughout the AETC units reviewed over a checklist of several thousand items involving every major office and shop within the wing.
Col. Ken Frollini, inspection team leader, said "The men and women of the 189th have set the bar high with every group exceeding the standard and achieving an excellent rating."
The 189th AW is an AETC gained formal training unit charged with training and qualifying C-130 aircrew members in all crew positions to perform combat airlift operations. In addition to the training mission, the wing maintains a deployment readiness posture which includes 401 personnel identified for worldwide deployment to perform expeditionary combat support missions.
The wing trained more than 300 students during 2012 for initial, mission and instructor qualifications on the C-130 crew positions.
