It happened in the 1000 block of Mendenhall Cove, near Summer Avenue.
Both officers were members of the Organized Crime Unit, and they were serving a drug-related warrant.
Police Director Toney Armstrong said a suspect inside the home shot 32-year-old Officer Martoiya Lang and 32-year-old Officer William Vromah, as the officers forced their way into the home.
Officer Lang died, after being shot multiple times. Officer Lang had been with the MPD since 2003. She leaves behind four small children.
Officer Vromah is in stable condition at The Med. He was also shot multiple times. He's been with the MPD since 2007.
One suspect was shot, and is in critical condition at The Med. Another person inside the house is in custody.
Neighbors tell abc24.com they saw a white van pull up, and then they heard at least 20 shots. One neighbor tells us they knew drugs were being sold out of the house, but they've never had problems with the people who live there.
ABC 24 News will have team coverage of the shooting starting on ABC 24 News at Midday (11 a.m.), and continuing throughout the evening.
