The Lonoke County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) is investigating the theft of copper wire from a Lonoke church.

The theft at the New Beginning Mission Church on Highway 294 was discovered this morning.

The LCSO says the suspect(s) got in through a back door and stripped the copper wiring from construction frame work in an area where the church is adding on to its building.

The theft is believed to have happened between Sunday and this morning.

It will cost the church about $2,500 to replace the wiring and make other repairs.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or have information about the theft, is urged to call the LCSO at (501) 676-3000.
