Another option for helping the hungry, donating to the Arkansas Food Bank.

The agency can lower the price of food for food pantries and non profits by buying it in bulk.

One of those agencies, the St. Frances House in Little Rock, benefits from that help as it prepares for its Christmas celebration.

"It's more economical for us and then it helps us to help other people with other things when we don't have to spend as much money, said Phyllis Jones, Manager of Social Work."

St. Frances House, serves low income residents and the homeless with food, clothing, furniture and prescriptions.
