Man Arrested after Leading Cleburne County Law Officers on Chase

A man is behind bars in Cleburne County after leading law enforcement officers on a chase.

The Cleburne County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) says the pursuit of Robert Hooper, 51, ended on Hooper Lane in Pangburn.
 
The chase had started in downtown Pangburn and ended in a physical altercation with officers at 250 Hooper Lane near Lobo Landing, the CCSO said.

Hooper was taken into custody at the scene and charged with multiple traffic violations, two counts of aggravated assault, seven counts of terroristic threatening, and fleeing.

Thye CCSO says at the time of his arrest Hooper was armed with a Taurus .357 Magnum revolver.

He's being held in the Cleburne County Detention Center on $100,000 bond.
