The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) is investigating a weekend home burglary in the Ferndale area where thieves made off with more than $80,000 worth of property.

An SUV, guns, jewelry and other items were taken in the Sunday morning break-in on Mills Mountain Road, off Ferndale Cut-off Road.

There were no signs of forced entry, the PCSO said, but investigators collected fingerprints from a plastic container for medications and in another location.

The PCSO says the home has an alarm system but it had not been turned on when the family left.
