Just a couple of football games generated 10s of thousands of dollars in the Capitol City this weekend.

It's all thanks to the Arkansas High School Football Finals at War Memorial Stadium.

Where is the money going we asked.

Stadium staff say the money goes back into the communities.

In addition to the hotels and restaurant the fans frequent while they're there each concession stand inside the stadium generates over $15,000 a day. War Memorial gives 12 percent of that to groups working the stands.

This weekend's groups benefiting from the concession sales were a Boy Scout Troop and baseball organization from Conway.

Groups often jump at the chance to work the booths because it's quick, easy money that helps fund things like group trips.

Conway Troop 392 Leader, Robert Johnson said, "We're basically running the concession stands and we're raising money for Sea Base and the Scout is thrifty so we've got to coordinate and go through and plan all of this so that we can go down to sea base."

War Memorial Stadium General Manager, Charlie Staggs added, "I'm sure these restaurants across the street had a big day and the motels, I know some of the teams came in Wednesday and spent the night so I'm sure it's an economical boost for the city too."

If you do the math, in one day these groups can net about $3,600, which is quite a bit of money for any Boy Scout group or young baseball team.
