A Fayetteville man accused of attempted capital murder for shooting a police officer will be in court Monday.

The trial for Sergio Andrade-Martinez begins Dec. 3, according to the Washington County Prosecutor's office.

Police said Martinez fired several rounds at officers from the balcony of his Bedford Loop Apartment last March during a standoff with officers. Officer Blake Williamson was shot in the right leg.

After undergoing surgery and several weeks of physical therapy, Officer Williamson returned to the police department in June.
