Update: NLR Man Dies after Motorcycle Crash on Little Rock's Mississippi Avenue

Little Rock Police reported today that the motorcyclist critically injured in Tuesday's crash with an SUV on Mississippi Avenue died at the hospital a short time later.
"Dettrus Johnson was transported by MEMS to UAMS, but died as a result of his injuries at 12:27, police said.

A traffic accident involving a motorcycle and an SUV in Little Rock's Leawood neighborhood critically injured one man this morning.
It happened around 9:30 at Mississippi Avenue and Patricia Lane.
Police say Dettrus Johnson, 30, of North Little Rock was taken from the scene in critical condition after his motorcycle collided with an SUV. His condition after arriving at the hospital wasn't known.
Johnson, who was wearing a helmet with a face shield, was thrown off his Suzuki GSX1300R on impact, according to the police report.
The report states that a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by James W. Gee, 72, was making a left turn onto Mississippi and the driver saw the motorcycle coming towards him as he made the turn. Gee reported seeing Johnson lay the motorcycle down and watching it slide into the back of his vehicle, throwing Johnson unconscious into the street. Gee was not injured.
While no citation had been issued at the scene pending the outcome of the investigation, the report noted that Gee failed to yield the right of way.
Johnson's bike was totaled while Gee's SUV had $500 in damage.
