After losing it all, a Batesville man is giving back in a major way this Thanksgiving.

Don Rummell got involved with the Red Cross a few years ago, and this Thanksgiving he's stepping up and helping out with the hurricane Sandy relief effort.

Rummell says he's doing it to help out those who need it most right now and to relieve workers who may want to spend time with their families.

"I've been really impressed with the Red Cross and how organized they are, how they've got everything worked out," Rummell says. "So it's made it a little bit easier on me to know that somebody's got a plan."

Rummell will be helping folks in New Brunswick, N.J. for at least two weeks, and he says he's not sure what to expect when he gets there.
