Based out of Little Rock, the group raised just over nine-hundred dollars at a book signing for a collection of their short stories.
Fundraising efforts started earlier this week and they've already raised eight-thousand dollars to help move the animals at River Glen Tiger Sanctuary in Mountainburg to Turpentine Creek in Eureka Springs.
"The Diamond State Romance Authors wanted to do something because we've been out to the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge and love what they're doing out there. They've got a great program to help home these animals and give them a place to live for the rest of their lives," says author Elle James.
Turpentine Creek needs about seven-thousand dollars for each of the 34 big cats. That's a total of 238-thousand dollars.
