In this world full of jam packed days, many people use five hour energy drinks to get by, but now the FDA is investigating those little bottle that give you a boost.

The ads for five hour energy drinks promise they'll lift you out of your afternoon slump....About 1.5 million bottles of a high caffeine shot sold every day!  But the FDA says it's looking into the possibility of a connection between 5-hour energy and 13-deaths over the past four years the company self-reported.

Heart attacks, convulsions, even a spontaneous abortion.  The company insists they are adverse event reports that are not substantiated, and the FDA says its premature to draw any conclusions.  While the labels on the drinks don't divulge how much caffeine is inside, the company insists its about the same as a cup of premium coffee.  A caffeine boost may be safe for most adults, but cardiologists warn that a small percentage of adults and kids with known or unknown pre-existing heart conditions could be at risk:

Just last month, the FDA said it was looking at whether five other deaths could be linked to monster energy drinks.  Monster insists its drinks are safe, and not responsible for any deaths.
