The North Little Rock School district is taking steps to rise above it's fiscal distress status.

The district was slapped with that label in 2011 for poor record keeping.  At Thursday's board meeting, newly released audit findings showed no new negative citations and the district's records to be in excellent shape, according to a spokesperson.

The superintendent has written a letter to the state, asking to be taken off the fiscal distress list. The next state board of education meeting where the issue can be addressed is December 10th, 2012.
