Parents and educators in Jacksonville met on Tuesday night discuss the possibility of creating a new school district in the city.

The Jacksonville-North Pulaski Education Corps says now is the time, because it's not just teachers or individual schools asking for it, but a wide variety of groups.

"This is the first time in the history when the PCSSD is in favor of it, the State of Arkansas is in favor of it, the people of Jacksonville-North Pulaski of course, have been pushing for this for a long time," said Daniel Gray with the Jacksonville/North Pulaski Education Corps.

Any move would affect about ten schools in the Jacksonville area.
