Just days into deer season, Arkansas Game and Fish is reminding hunters to be safe after two Arkansas hunters have been shot.

Game and Fish says hunters must always wear blaze orange, including some kind of hat.

They also want hunters to remember to look before they shoot.

"In Arkansas we have a three-point rule," says Arlene Green with Arkansas Game and Fish. "It's just a case of failure to identify your target."

Green says tree stand accidents are far more common than accidental shootings.

Game and Fish recorded 14 incidents last year, including two deaths.

In most cases, injured hunters weren't wearing a safety harness.
