fair2007-10-11-1192149847.jpgGates open at noon Friday but theres still lots to do to get ready for the thousands of people converging on the State Fairgrounds. This year theyve added at least nine new rides including some for the Kid Zone. But for many the fair is a time to try out new food. this year you can have a mashed potato sundae, Sponge Bob ice cream on a stick and of course the fried Coca Cola. "Its actual Coca Cola syrup mixed in with batter deep fried then covered again with Coca Cola glaze. Then you have all the types of options for toppings such as powered sugar or whipped cream, says Dan Sawyer from the State Fair "
