She claims someone stole her dog.
Now she's making a plea to have her family pet returned.
"Sargent just turned one-year-old, I've had him since he was five weeks old, he is black," said the dog's owner, who didn't want to be identified. "He has a white spot on his chest, silver lining."
She said Sargent is a huge part of her family and belongs to her sons.
"We got him around Christmas time last year, he was an early Christmas present for my boys," she explains.
Sargent normally walks the boys to the end of the driveway every morning, but last Thursday he didn't return.
"Where I live, it is all family and he would not leave unless it was with the boys, he stays home, I'm a housewife and home all the time," the woman says.
She claims someone stole Sargent.
"We checked around to some of the vets around here to see if anyone had brought him in," she says.
KARK spoke to a worker at the Congo Animal Clinic in Benton, who confirmed a woman did bring a dog in that fit Sargent's description. The worker said they scanned him for a microchip, didn't find one, and told the woman to take the dog to Animal Control.
Sargent's owner said, "I have called so many animal controls, the Humane Society, I've talked to 99-percent of my neighbors."
But nothing has turned up and no leads to where Sargent could be.
The owner said she doesn't buy it.
"Someone here in Benton, someone here in Saline County, they know where my dog is and I would just like to have him back," she says.
